The special issue on Geographies of the Urban Night has now been released as Issue 3 of Volume 52 of the journal Urban Studies. The papers date back to the Association of American Geographers conference from 2012. There’s some excellent papers from Marion Roberts, Ben Gallan, J and Richard Yarwood, Tim Edensor, and Risa Permanadeli among others, as well as a nice overview of research on the night-time city from Phil Hadfield. Oh, and a contribution from me 🙂
The collection offers an excellent snapshot of night-related research in geography very nicely – but also reveals a sub-discipline in which night-time economy and alcohol studies still dominate. Find it all online at: http://usj.sagepub.com/content/52/3.toc
And of course – thanks to Ilse, Irina and Tim for putting this together!
