Geographies of the urban night – Urban Studies special issue

The special issue on Geographies of the Urban Night has now been released as Issue 3 of Volume 52 of the journal Urban Studies. The papers date back to the Association of American Geographers conference from 2012. There’s some excellent papers from Marion Roberts, Ben Gallan, Jennie Middleton and Richard Yarwood, Tim Edensor, Jérôme Tadié and Risa Permanadeli among others, as well as a nice overview of research on the night-time city from Phil Hadfield. Oh, and a contribution from me 🙂

The collection offers an excellent snapshot of night-related research in geography very nicely – but also reveals a sub-discipline in which night-time economy and alcohol studies still dominate. Find it all online at: http://usj.sagepub.com/content/52/3.toc

And of course – thanks to Ilse, Irina and Tim for putting this together!
